SENIOR MANAGER - GLOBAL REVENUE ACCOUNTING - International, growing company in North Atlanta
My client, an international industry leader is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting to oversee their Global Revenue Accounting function. This position will be responsible for overseeing the revenue and commissions process for multiple, complex revenue streams, recognizing revenue and commissions and deferring according to US GAAP and they company's accounting policies. This position is a high-exposure position and will be responsible for partnering with executive level management to make strategic decisions about the company's future position in the market.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITES:
  • Collaborate proactively with the sales organization, sales operations team and legal department to ensure revenue transactions are recorded in accordance with US GAAP and the company's revenue recognition policy
  • Provide oversight to day-to-day accounting and operations of order-to-cash and revenue cycle, from invoicing and collections to revenue recognition issues, deal review, and analysis.
  • Oversee the revenue and commissions processes for multiple revenue streams ( ensuring revenue and commissions are recognized and deferred in accordance with US GAAP and the company's accounting policies.
  • Own detailed review and oversight of accrued commissions and deferred commissions
  • Create audit-ready memos for significant and non-standard sales contracts and lead external auditors in connection with revenue related audit procedures.
  • Oversee the Company's quarterly VSOE and BESP analysis and related scalable accounting process and reconciliations.
  • Act as a mentor to billing/revenue team, ensuring their career growth and development
  • Develop, maintain and update internal controls documentation for revenue recognition.

Job Requirements

Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years' overall experience, 5+ years' experience as a revenue supervisor/manager role at a company with multiple, complex revenue streams
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • Ability to read contracts/agreements and identify pertinent terms and issues to provide appropriate, practical, scalable accounting guidance and issue resolution to business managers.
  • Strong understanding and experience dealing with regulatory requirements and Big 4 auditors on software, services and multiple element revenue arrangements
  • Experience in environments with high transaction volume required, preferably with experience building/scaling a high growth revenue organization.
