Our client is a leading private investment firm which, together with its affiliates, manages approximately $21 billion in equity capital. The firm operates globally with over 160 employees in San Francisco, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and Sao Paulo. The firm's investments include public and private debt and equity securities, direct investments in private companies, and real estate. The Position Reporting to the Controller of the Real Estate division, this person will help oversee the reporting for a diverse portfolio of real assets (commercial real estate – hotels, office space, infrastructure). You will be responsible for:  
• Assisting the RE CFO on tax compliance for REIT reporting
• REIT consolidation accounting
• RE Accounting Program Project (should we purchase a GL program)
• Work with Tax Group on the tax return packages of the self-managed assets
• Work with RE CFO on audits of self-managed deals
• Assist annual preparation side pocket tax estimates with Tax Group and outside partners.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate has:
• 5+ years of real estate accounting experience in-house within a real estate investment firm, preferably beginning career in public accounting
• CPA ideal
• Experience with systems migration and overseeing large scale projects
• Ability to work independently in a flat non-hierarchical environment.
