Job Description

Provide knowledgeable expertise while operating and continuously monitoring the County's Data Center, including the County mainframe computer, peripheral equipment, open systems servers and storage devices, and data communications equipment, security, and environmental conditions within. Perform daily batch processing of scheduled production, printing and output distribution. Perform after-hours Help Desk functions. Monitor and respond to console needs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Operates and monitors County mainframe and Data Center
2. Processes, prints, and break down printed output for distribution
3. Uses MVS System, JES, TSO, and SYSD commands
4. Provides Help Desk support after normal duty hours
8. Performs job scheduling using CA7
9. Release and monitor mainframe batch jobs using CA7
10. Check Printing
11. CA7 scheduler, SYSD and SDSF

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years of IT work experience. Knowledge of mainframe systems, related software, business principles and procedures. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good oral and written communication skills, strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to solve problems quickly and completely and coordinate activities simultaneously. Driving may be required. Must have a valid and current Driver's License.Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, climb, stoop, lift, push and pull.
