Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) is the Allianz Group's dedicated carrier for corporate and specialty insurance business. AGCS provides insurance and risk consultancy across the whole spectrum of specialty, alternative risk transfer and corporate business: Marine, Aviation (incl. Space), Energy, Engineering, Entertainment, Financial Lines (incl. D&O), Liability, Mid-Corporate and Property insurance (incl. International Insurance Programs).

Role Purpose:

This position will be responsible for supporting technical accounting and reporting topics related to the net underwriting results of the organization with a focus on the ceded insurance business on a STAT and IFRS basis.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reconciling reinsurance premium and claim accounts, recording reinsurance contracts (treaties), delivering on IFRS and STAT regulatory reporting deadlines and preparation of reinsurance schedules and disclosures for the NAIC annual statements. Accountabilities also include assisting to complete statutory audited financial statements and support of data requests related to external audits and state examinations.  Assist in project work as assigned.

Stay current on IFRS, Statutory and GAAP changes in Accounting and apply them to the tasks assigned

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete technical account analyses and data checks for monthly and annual IFRS (ECCS) reporting and complete the underwriting schedules for quarterly and yearend statutory reporting.

  • Assist in the completion of audited financial statements and coordinate data requests for external audits and state examinations relating to the statutory underwriting results.

  • Stay abreast of IFRS and STAT accounting policy changes and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

  • Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements.

  • Assist in project work as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree: Accounting, Finance or Business degree

  • CPA certification preferred

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of Financial Statement preparation

  • 3 to 5 years of Relevant insurance accounting experience, including knowledge of US statutory and GAAP accounting principles.  Knowledge of IFRS is a plus.

  • Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP/Statutory Accounting, with an emphasis on financial reporting.

  • Knowledge of insurance accounting principles, especially for property and casualty companies

  • Experience with SAP/BW/Cognos and proficient in Microsoft Office products.

  • Data Quality and Reporting: Ensuring compliance of closing, reporting with internal & external requirements .

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and processes

  • Financial analysis skills
