Job Description

A multi-practice law firm in downtown Chicago seeks a Legal Secretary to join their team! The ideal candidate will be team-oriented and maintain a calm, composed manner in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of the Legal Secretary:
  • Prepare corporate compliance documentation and multi-state governance rules and regulatory filings
  • Assist in the drafting of annual consents and resolutions
  • Preparation and maintenance of corporate minute books
  • Assist in closing of business transactions including preparation of closing books/binders in both paper and electronic formats
  • Maintain attorneys’ daily schedule by updating appointments in their Outlook calendar and in the firm’s electronic calendar
  • Prepare and set up attorneys’ conference calls and in-office meetings 

Job Requirements

Requirements of the Legal Secretary:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 4-5 year of corporate/transactional legal experience
  • Must be proficient in Word including formatting, styles, and tables and comparing/redlining documents
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat including converting documents from Word to PDF and PDF to Word and preparation of Adobe packages
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience with HotDocs and Power Point preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
