Logistics Brokerage Manager: 
The Logistics Brokerage Manager is responsible for managing the execution, direction and coordination of all transportation matters while adhering to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. This role facilitates the shipping and/or receiving of products to and from the warehouse on behalf of customers, while also directly communicates with clients and carriers for efficient movement in products. This role will also negotiate and secure carriers to move customer freight, schedule and track shipments and ensure a variety of solutions to transportation issues. This role also ensures customer satisfaction by monitoring deliveries, cost effectiveness of solutions, pricing and maintenance of accurate records of all transportations and goods.

Responsibilities: 
  • Negotiate and secure carriers to move customer freight with an eye to profitability and mutual satisfaction.
  • Track and schedule shipments from pickup to delivery according to customer requirements and proactively alert customers in advance of possible delays while working to resolve issues.
  • Prepare paperwork for invoicing.
  • Supervise, train and coach logistics employees.
  • Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems or customer issues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and respond to their requirements.
  • Develop and secure new business prospects.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with clients, carriers and collaborative relationships with internal operational departments.
  • Provide and maintain excellent customer service in a professional and timely manner using face-to-face, phone, or e-mail interactions.
  • Manage the flow of orders and documentation using computer-based technology.
  • Contact carrier representatives to arrange and issue shipping instructions, delivery of materials, etc.
  • Verify all freight invoices.
  • Maintain system data requirements and records.
  • Handle quality-control issues.
  • Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification or performance evaluation.

Job Requirements

Experience: 
  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in Transportation Industry; some Brokerage Experience Required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn internal computer programs; MercuryGate experience a PLUS.
  • Experience in customer service and problem resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency.
