This position is responsible for a variety of specialized accounting and financial functions and special projects that assist the finance department in creating timely and accurate financial statements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepares weekly cash forecast. 
  • Prepares various journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Analyzes Balance Sheet Accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Analyzes P&L line items on a monthly basis. 
  • Maintains Fixed Asset spreadsheet and posts monthly depreciation expense.
  • General ledger analysis and researches various accounting issues. 
  • Assists with monthly and quarterly reporting by creating and/or maintaining pertinent schedules and aide in the review process.   
  • Prepares and maintains current information on properties and leased equipment.
  • Analyzes and interprets Contracts for appropriate revenue recognition.
  • Participates in a variety of revenue recognition activities including revenue deferral in multi-year contracts, transactional and contingency-based revenue.
  • Identifies and appropriately reserves revenue. 
  • Prepares accurate calculations and schedules to support monthly and/or quarterly GL entries and balances. 
  • Uses pertinent data and facts to identify and solve technical issues. 
  • Performs monthly account reconciliations in accordance with company policy.
  • Actively participate in the financial close process 
  • Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigates issues providing explanations and interpretation.
  • Participates in the analysis and preparation of financial statements and various census reports and surveys.
  • Assists in preparation of documentation in support of external and internal audits
  • Communicates effectively with other professional and support staff in order to achieve positive customer outcomes.
  • Promotes and contributes to a positive, problem-solving environment.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains confidentiality of customer medical records in accordance with state and federal laws.
  • Ensures compliance with all HIPAA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations. 
  • Participates in meetings, training and in-service education, as required. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business is required
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting is required
  • Healthcare experience is preferred
  • Quickbooks experience is a plus
  • Excellent computer knowledge is required, including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area and volume
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong decision-making, analytical skills
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and have excellent prioritization skills
  • Must be able to work well under stressful conditions
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
