About Rose Free Standing Emergency Department
Rose Medical Center is excited to offer the Stapleton and northeast Denver communities more opportunities to provide care for the whole family closer to home. Conveniently located at the corner of Northfield Blvd & Wabash St. in the Northfield area of Stapleton, it’s just a few blocks north of I-70 and a few blocks east of Quebec.

The Rose Stapleton ER is an extension of Rose Medical Center, as though separated by “a long hallway,” says our Medical Director of Emergency Services, Dr. Andrew Ziller. It is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and specially trained emergency nurses – the same doctors and nurses you know from our Main ER on 9th & Cherry.

Plus, the Rose Stapleton ER is part of the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children System of Pediatric Care. This means our ER team can quickly connect to the pediatric emergency physicians at the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children by telemedicine at any time.

And if a Stapleton ER patient needs to be transferred to Rose for additional care, or if a pediatric patient needs to be transferred to Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children for additional care, the ambulance transfer is done at no cost to the patient.
 
The Emergency Department RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.  The tasks and responsibilities include:
  • Assesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs.
  • Prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources.
  • Carries out physician orders.
  • Assists physician during examination, treatment and procedures.
  • Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs.
  • Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care.
 

Job Requirements

Required Job Qualifications include:
  •  Position Requirements:
    . Licensure/Certification/Registration: RN License in the State of Colorado. Compact license acceptable but must obtain Colorado state license within 90 days of hire. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification through American Heart Association. Must obtain ENPC as well as TNCC within 3 months of hire. CEN preferred.
    . Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred.

    . Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience  current ED .

    . Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the standards of nursing practice at RMC. Demonstrates good organizational skills, ability to plan and provide for delivery of nursing services. Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills. Demonstrates the ability to address customer and staff concerns. Responsible for daily quality control checks as assigned. Communicates effectively, in a positive and professional manner with staff and physicians, EMS personnel, patients and families. Maintains current certificates and competencies and actively participates on the Unit Based Council, committees and staff meetings. May be asked to float to areas other then the emergency department, and will perform only those duties for which there is demonstrated competency.

    . Degree of Supervision Required: Minimum, under supervision of Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator, Director 



    Orientation Period: Minimum of 2 weeks, contingent upon experience.
