The TPA Sales Executive is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for UHC's TPA services for a given market.  Working in collaboration with the UHC Commercial Acct Execs, the Sales Exec's primary goal is to increase sales of our ASO business by providing expertise and extensive knowledge of Stop Loss and TPA products and services.

If you are located in the Southeast, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Increase revenue and membership for UnitedHealthcare's TPA business segment

  • Sell TPA products through the UHC sales channel

  • Support continuing development and expansion of UHC distribution channel and be accountable for achieving TPA sales targets in assigned territory via new business and add on sales

  • Ability to quickly develop outstanding relationships with UHC sales team as their key partner in TPA sales

  • Ability to interface with Health Plan CEO's and Market VP's, and present strategic solutions for the market

  • Introduce TPA offerings in each market & broker community in concert with UHC overall sales strategies and tactics

  • Expert knowledge of TPA products sold in the market and the ability to clearly differentiate product offerings

  • Raise awareness of TPA offerings within the UHC sales organization in the assigned territory

  • Develop TPA business strategies into clear objectives and tactics in each market

  • Leverage cross selling opportunities

  • Support introduction of new products into distribution channels

  • Assist in responding to Request for Proposals and other inquiries

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS level education or higher 

  • Key or National Accts sales experience in the insurance industry

  • Demonstrated ability to understand, develop and present strategies within healthcare benefits market

  • Adept at understanding complex concepts and situations presented by the business environment

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to present, write and converse effectively with multiple audiences of varying levels of sophistication

  • Successful sales achievement, ability to represent the organization professionally and drive desired sales growth in a profitable, repeatable manner

Required Qualifications:

  • Formal sales and marketing training

  • 5+ years in TPA/Stop Loss/ASO sales
