As a Healthcare Upscale Security Officer, you will conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior), control access and egress, monitor closed caption televisions and alarm systems, compose reports, deter criminal activity and misconduct, and perform other duties as specified in post orders. The Officer is trained to work at all posts at the assigned site location and is available to work all shifts.

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

• Deter criminal activity and misconduct, investigate suspicious situations, conduct patrol tours
• Communicate by use of Secure Trax ™ , 2-way radios, telephones and computers
• Patient escort, patient watch, provide safety escort, assist and/or transport deceased to morgue
• Maintain required certifications, licensing and training to achieve professional competency as appropriate for the position
• Complete required shift logs and reports; compliance with site post orders, G4S and client policies and procedures
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
• Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, a State of South Carolina Unarmed Security Guard license
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid driver’s license if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

• Must possess one or more of the following:
  • Associate's degree or higher in any discipline
  • Service in the active duty military, military reserves or National Guard
  • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets
  • Meaningful and verifiable work history
  • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience

• Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
• Must be a citizen of the United States (in order to meet security licensing requirements)
• Must be able to work flexible schedules and respond to work assignments with little to no advance notice
• Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Must have demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
