Serves as administrative services and program manager, office manager, and assistant to the Chairs for the Departments of American Studies, Asian American Studies, Latino Studies and Chicano-Riqueno Studies and RMI. Manages all departments; handles administrative and enrollment activities at both graduate and undergraduate levels; and includes staff supervision and faculty personnel assistance. Establishes, interprets, and modifies departmental policies and operating procedures. Provides transaction processing and other financial administrative support as dictated by departmental needs and under the direction of the Fiscal Officer.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree and three years of administrative work experience.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite. Strong analytical and planning skills with the ability to independently manage multiple projects with competing demands in order to determine priorities. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide variety of individuals.
Knowledge of other hardware and software applications. Financial training or comparable experience. Knowledge of IU systems such as KFS, HRMS, SIS, WCMS, IU Foundation ETA system and IUIE. Knowledge of IU policies and procedures. Experience with university academic and financial procedures.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
Standard office equipment including PC running Windows applications; multi-function machines (printer, fax, and scanner), laptop and other departmental equipment as needed (i.e. video camera, LCD Projectors).
