Saint Mary's is currently recruiting Registered Nurses for the Emergency Department and Nursing Float Pool.
The Staff RN is directly accountable for the care given to patients. He/She will communicate with the physician about the changes in the patient's clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. The staff RN recognizes life threatening situations, changes in conditions and/or responses to treatment quickly and accurately responds. The Staff RN maintains accurate and relevant record of all patient care, is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies.
- Minimum of two years as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting required; emergency or critical care nursing experience preferred.
- Completion of a RN program from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Must be able to communicate in English (Speak, Write).
- Current and valid Nevada RN License required.
- BLS (AHA) certification required.
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) training within 90 days of hire and every two years thereafter required.
Additional Requirements for Emergency Department only:
- ACLS (AHA) certification required.
- PALS (AHA) certification required.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) within 90 days of hire and every two years thereafter required.
